Longtime ABC Sports TV producer Terry Jastrow anounces The People’s Games

Joining ABC Sports in June of 1970, Jastrow has produced and directed 6 Olympic Games, numerous episodes of ABC’s Wide World of Sports, the Super Bowl, Indy 500, Kentucky Derby, Howard Cosell programs and 68 major championships of golf during his 24 year tenure with ABC Sports. His director’s credits also include the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 1984 Summer Olympics in LA. Jastrow was nominated for the Directors Guild of American Lifetime Achievement Award and has been nominated for 17 Emmy awards, winning seven of them.

Today, Terry Jastrow serves as the Commissioner and Executive Producer of the People’s Games which has been created to give the common man or woman the opportunity to live out a dream…to represent their family, neighborhood and city in athletic competition, in pursuit of the thrill of victory. Rival cities of New York vs. Los Angeles will go heads-up for a best two out of three basketball series in the first application of The People’s Games.
